Hi! I’m sophia

I am currently a Senior UX Designer at Deloitte and previously I was at SAP and DataRobot. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a double major in HCI and Art (Electronic Time-Based Media).

At my previous experience at ZS, I won an impact award for helping my team securing a multi-million-dollar contract with a top 10 pharmaceutical company in Paris. I led the training of creative Gen-AI (Midjourney, Firefly), which streamlined our UX and creative team’s operations by 50%.

I have a huge passion for creativity - I was named an “Artist to Watch in 2023” by Giphy. My background in code, conceptual art, and advertising has allowed me to gain a unique perspective on design and creating products are are both delightful and valuable for users.

I love dabbling in multiple artistic mediums

Lo-Fi Podcast Cover | Hand-Drawn Animation

Outside of work, I enjoy creating art. I had my art sold at an art gallery and I’ve created music videos and album covers for a contemporary jazz band in New York City.

Stretching my creativity is crucial for design as UX is an ever-evolving and interdisciplinary field and I find joy in practicing different artistic mediums. Microinteractions is a topic I’m particulary passionate about.

Animating delft through Giphy Commissions

I animated some delftware for a sticker pack for Giphy.

I love Theater & Film

I believe in enhancing creativity through immersion and pushing the boundaries of digital storytelling. My favorite directors include David Lynch and Yorgos Lanthimos. I also enjoy multi-faceted theater productions like Moulin Rouge, Sleep No More, and Punchdrunk.

I like making videos myself; this is a short experimental film. I also received 105K+ views on my youtube channel.

I have International experience

I’ve worked with clients from Paris 🇫🇷, London 🇬🇧, Zurich🇨🇭, and Tokyo 🇯🇵. I also had my artwork displayed in a gallery in Shanghai 🇨🇳. My love for international design has taken me to over 14 countries.

Painting the world with watercolor

I have a solid foundation in painting and drawing - these originals were painted by me in high school! My art skills have helped me immensely in understanding the aesthetic of UX design.

Creating Magic through Glass Art

Recently, I’ve been getting into glass art. I traveled to the UK 🇬🇧 to learn the medieval style of stained glass painting and I even sold my glass art at a gallery. I’ve been enjoying the technical process of manipulating glass, which allows me to get physically active.
